The first Parajanov & Vartanov film retrospective and art exhibition at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival in South Korea was curated by Martiros Vartanov in 2012. Some 40 years after they were made, the never before publicly screened documentaries by Mikhail Vartanov premiered with the masterpieces of Sergei Parajanov.

The latest Parajanov/Vartanov film retrospective took place in 2020 at the Copenhagen Cinematheque, was organized by the Danish Film Institute, and featured a special appearance by Martiros M. Vartanov: Boy with a Movie Camera.
