New York Film Festival NYFF

The legendary filmmaker Sergei Parajanov attended the New York Film Festival with his film Ashik Kerib in 1988 (after Venice, Munich, and Rotterdam). In 2014, NYFF premiered Paradjanov’s restored Sayat Nova (The Color of Pomegranates). Martin Scorsese introduced the film and received the 2014 Parajanov-Vartanov Institute Award for championing the restoration of Parajanov’s masterpiece.
